We believe in Participatory Awareness
Our awareness initiative is to inform and educate people about electronic waste problems with the intention of influencing their attitudes, behaviours and beliefs towards the achievement of environmental sustainability. Our awareness-raising is a constructive and potentially catalytic force to bring a positive change in actions and behaviours of consumers towards discarded electronics. Our awareness raising program is one of the pillars on which public participation is built to address the e-waste issues. Our goal of public awareness, sharing of info and education for environment and sustainability is to develop knowledge, understanding and skills to behave and act for the protection of natural and cultural environments and promote sustainable forms of development leaving a toxic free society. At CURE it is done by respecting institutionalised and voluntary rules agreed by understanding dialogue, participation and partnership. Therefore our participatory approach is linked to information, education and awareness.
Awareness raising leads to positive changes in actions and behaviours of the people, however providing information and creating awareness about an issue does not automatically lead to behavioural change. So in order to reach behavioural change we undergo several phases to orient thepeople’s mind to adopt the change. These are different pillars of the CURE participation pyramid
