Focus on the Ponseti Method

During the seminar, Dr. Mathew Varghese highlighted the effectiveness of the Ponseti Method, a non-surgical treatment that is recognized globally as the gold standard for clubfoot management. Thanks to CURE India and its collaboration with state governments and Rotary, this life-changing treatment is provided free of cost, ensuring that every child in need has access to care.

A Vision for 2030

Dr. Santhosh G, Director of CURE India, emphasized the importance of India's role in the global fight against clubfoot disability. "For polio elimination, India was one of the last countries, but when it comes to the elimination of disability from clubfoot, India is one of the first countries to provide the maximum number of non-surgical treatments," he said.

With the continued leadership of Rotary and the growing network of clinics across the country, Dr. Santhosh is confident that by 2030, India will have enough clinics in all 806 districts to ensure that no child born with clubfoot goes untreated.

A Collaborative Effort for Change

The event underscored the unwavering support and dedication of Rotary leaders, who have been instrumental in spreading awareness about clubfoot disability and supporting CURE India's programs. Together, they are shaping a brighter future for children affected by this condition, enabling them to lead healthier, more empowered lives.

By joining hands, Rotary District 3011 and CURE India are not just treating clubfoot—they are eliminating disability, one step at a time.
