On October 29, 2024, CURE India proudly hosted its 133rd medical training session on the Ponseti method of clubfoot management, in collaboration with the esteemed Department of Orthopaedics at GGMC & Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai. This event brought together some of the most respected names in the field, each dedicated to transforming the lives of children affected by clubfoot.
A Gathering of Experts
The workshop was honored by the presence of Dr. Mathew Varghese, Chairman of CURE India; Dr. Alaric Aroojis, a renowned Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon and President of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of India (POSI); Dr. Santosh G., Director of CURE India; and Dr. Nazir Z Shah, Associate Professor & Head of Orthopaedics at GGMC & Sir JJ Group of Hospitals. With 46 doctors in attendance, each participant gained invaluable hands-on experience in the Ponseti method—a globally recognized approach to non-surgical clubfoot treatment.
Enhancing Skills to Transform Lives
This workshop provided practical casting experience, equipping doctors with essential skills to treat clubfoot in children. By refining their expertise in the Ponseti method, these medical professionals are now better prepared to provide effective, patient-centered care to children across India, giving them a chance to live free from the limitations of disability.
