CURE International India Trust (CURE India) embarked on its mission in April 2009 with a resolute objective: to eradicate disability stemming from clubfoot across India. As of July 2024, our impact has touched the lives of over 1,10,000 children, who have received free treatment through 419 dedicated weekly clubfoot clinics spanning all 29 states in the country.
Our vision is clear and unwavering: to see India free of disability from clubfoot. No child should be left without treatment. Beyond immediate care, we are committed to the broader transformation of lives and communities. If every child born with clubfoot gets treatment and every child getting into the treatment completes it successfully, our dream will come true: the dream to make clubfoot deformity history.
Our commitment extends beyond immediate treatment—more than 9000 doctors have been trained in the Ponseti Method of Clubfoot Management in 132 Medical Trainings. The prevalence of clubfoot, affecting over 150 children daily in India, underscores the crucial role CURE India plays in establishing and maintaining free clubfoot clinics. These clinics not only provide essential care at no cost to families but also serve as a lifeline for those who need it most.
From the outset, CURE India has collaborated closely with government healthcare programs, strategically managing weekly clubfoot clinics in partnership with the orthopaedic departments of government medical colleges and hospitals. This approach ensures accessibility to the most vulnerable populations, making a tangible difference in the lives of those who might otherwise be left untreated.
Our impact resonates beyond medical intervention. A comprehensive social impact study revealed that CURE India's influence extends to families affected by clubfoot, transcending treatment to encompass holistic well-being. Families interacting with our dedicated counsellors not only witness the transformation in their children's lives but also take up adult literacy programs, particularly in financial literacy. These counsellors, acting as lifelines for families, provide the essential counselling and medical support, improving the families' access to state healthcare facilities. Over a five-year period, a noticeable improvement in the standard of living has been observed in families whose children received care through CURE India compared to those in similar social strata whose children were not born with clubfoot.
Our vision calls for collective action. No child should be left without treatment, and you can be a part of this transformative journey. Your support through donations, time, and talents can help us treat children with clubfoot and create lasting change for communities. At CURE India, we believe in a future where no child's potential is limited by clubfoot, and we invite you to join us in turning this vision into reality.
