In collaboration with CURE India, the Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC) in Lucknow hosted a remarkable Awareness Program aimed at spreading knowledge about clubfoot disability and its treatment. With 120 Anganwadi workers in attendance, this impactful event marked an important step toward eradicating clubfoot disability across India.
Led by Ms. Rupa, the training session offered essential knowledge on early identification and referral of children with clubfoot to CURE India clinics. The Anganwadi workers, who are often the first point of contact in rural and community health settings, were equipped with tools to recognize the signs of clubfoot and understand the life-changing treatments available through CURE India's clinics, including the Ponseti Method—a non-surgical solution that has transformed the lives of over 100,000 children.
The CRC Director and dedicated staff were present, further emphasizing the importance of partnerships in driving disability rehabilitation. This program provided an invaluable platform for participants to enhance their skills and understanding, empowering them to play a crucial role in supporting families and ensuring timely intervention for children born with clubfoot.
This awareness program is a testament to the power of collaboration in making strides toward a more inclusive future. By educating and mobilizing community health workers, we are advancing CURE India's mission to eliminate clubfoot disability nationwide by 2030, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to live a full and active life.
