On October 29, 2024, CURE India, in partnership with the Department of Orthopaedics at GGMC & Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai, successfully hosted its 133rd medical training session on the Ponseti method for clubfoot management. This specialized training event was honored by the presence of Dr. Mathew Varghese, Chairman of CURE India; Dr. Alaric Aroojis, Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon and President of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of India (POSI); Dr. Santosh G., Director of CURE India; and Dr. Nazir Z Shah, Associate Professor & Head of Orthopaedics at GGMC & Sir JJ Group of Hospitals.
Empowering Doctors with Hands-On Experience
The session saw 46 dedicated doctors participate, each gaining critical hands-on experience in casting techniques fundamental to the Ponseti method—a proven, non-surgical approach to treating clubfoot. These immersive learning opportunities are vital for doctors to confidently and effectively treat children with clubfoot, providing hope to families and a brighter future for children affected by this condition.
