On a mission to eliminate clubfoot disability in India, CURE India’s dedicated District Program Coordinator, Ms. Shruti Shere, played a pivotal role at the district-level ASHA Workers training session in Akola, Maharashtra. This event became a vital platform to spread awareness, share expertise, and empower healthcare workers with the knowledge needed to support early intervention for children born with clubfoot.
ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activists) Workers are the backbone of India’s rural healthcare system. They connect communities with essential medical services, making them crucial partners in identifying and referring children with clubfoot for timely treatment.
During the session, Ms. Shruti Shere shared:
✔️ Key signs of clubfoot in newborns.
✔️ The importance of early diagnosis and intervention.
✔️ How CURE India’s clinics offer free treatment and support.
✔️ The role ASHA Workers play in transforming lives.
More than 440 clinics across India, over 110,000 children treated, and more than 9,000 doctors trained, CURE India is committed to ensuring no child with clubfoot goes untreated. ASHA Workers play a crucial role in achieving this mission by identifying and referring affected children early, ensuring they get the care they need to walk, run, and thrive.
