On December 19th, 2024, CURE India took another significant step toward achieving its vision of a clubfoot-free India by conducting a district-level ASHA Workers training session in Choudwar, Cuttack. This session was led by CURE India’s dedicated District Program Coordinator and was a crucial moment in empowering local communities to actively participate in the fight against clubfoot disability.
The event underscored CURE India’s commitment to its mission of eliminating clubfoot disability across the nation. By training ASHA Workers—the frontline healthcare workers who play an instrumental role in rural and underserved communities—CURE India is strengthening its grassroots efforts to identify and refer children with clubfoot to the nearest specialized clinics.
The session was rich in content, with a focus on early identification and timely intervention in the treatment of clubfoot. The ASHA Workers were equipped with critical insights on the signs of clubfoot and the necessary steps for referring children to CURE India clinics for the appropriate care.
This collaboration between CURE India and local healthcare professionals fosters an environment of knowledge exchange and equips ASHA Workers with the tools and confidence to support children with clubfoot and their families effectively. These workers are often the first point of contact for parents, and their role in the early detection and referral process is vital to ensuring that no child is left untreated.
This training session in Choudwar is another step forward in CURE India's journey toward ensuring that every child with clubfoot receives the care they deserve. With every community empowered and every healthcare worker trained, we are getting closer to a clubfoot-free India.
As we work together to make lasting change, let’s continue to spread awareness and take meaningful action for children’s health and well-being across India.
Together, we can ensure that every child has the chance to walk with confidence into a healthier, brighter future.
